Moments of Hope (MOHOPE) began as a one-man homeless outreach program in 2014. Now, it serves Caroline, Hanover, Henrico, and King William Counties, as well as the City of Richmond, Virginia. MOHope operates a resource center in Richmond at 2908 Chamberlayne Ave. Richmond 23222 M-F 9a-4p. Their food pantry is located near Hanover Courthouse and provides nine meals to 350-500+ neighbores each week. The meals are prepared in advance and delivered to two Saturday servings events (one located at the Light Community Church, (601 Axalea Ave 12p-1p) and the other to Hatcher Memorial Baptist Church ( 2300 Dumbarton Rd. 9:30a-11:00a).

MOHOPE also supports 19 area food banks ministries. The majority of the food they receive is donated from Feed More, their generous food bank partner. In addition to the food bank program, they operate a non-congregate Emergency Shelter program using private motel rooms to provide brief shelter to homeless neighbors. Annually they host, “Room in the Inn,” two nights in a motel with meals for the unsheltered because they believe no one should spend Christmas or Christmas Eve outside.
