Life Preparation
Donna believes that each experience in life is a preparation for what lies ahead, much like building blocks, where one experience builds on another. Throughout her life, each challenge helped prepare her for something greater she was to encounter in the future. She now calls upon her experience to provide her readers with a comprehensive website covering a broad scope of healthcare information from a variety of perspectives.

Donna’s husband was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2006. By 2010, he was using a powered wheelchair. For several years, she worked full-time, preparing him for the day before going to work, leaving him in someone’s care until her return to finish her day’s work caring for him. Not long after 2010, she had to start working from home due to a serious injury he sustained. That arrangement worked well for a couple of years until it didn’t. After a while, her colleagues and administration grew tired of her privileged lifestyle and forced her supervisor to have her return to the office. Due to the long commute, she lost a lot of sleep, and her health began to suffer (as did her attitude). Donna became so tired, she honestly didn’t care about anything, not even if she drove into a tree. Death would have been a relief, though she was not suicidal because she was too responsible to do the deed. However, living through that time was the motivation for producing this website. She hopes to spare others some of the pain and suffering she encountered by sharing the lessons she learned.

Donna became a Christian as an adult. Without the privilege of attending Sunday school as a child, she knew almost nothing about Christianity. She always thought she was a Christian because she attended church and considered herself a good person. To her surprise, she discovered that it was not true, and if she died, she would go to hell instead. To her relief, those same individuals shared with her how she could become a Christian and what she needed to do to follow Jesus. However, there was much she still did not understand. Like seeds scattered among the weeds, life got in the way of her attending church often, and little progress was made over the years. Then, finally, she and Lynn began to grow in their faith together while isolated at home. As homebound church members, they watched church online, listened to tapes, and podcasts. Their isolation strengthened their faith, but it required commitment and introspection. Donna wants to make it easier for other caregivers to find the answers they need when searching. Therefore, in “My Beliefs,” she offers readers the answers she found during her search for a closer relationship with Christ.
