FAMIS Select helps families pay for employer-sponsored health insurance. The FAMIS Select program allows families to choose between covering their children through an employer-sponsored health plan or through FAMIS. Families get up to $100 each month for each child enrolled in FAMIS Select to help pay the family health insurance premium (monthly cost). The total monthly payment from FAMIS Select cannot be more than the total amount of the family premium.

DMAS administers two Medicaid programs that may reimburse part of a participant’s total share of the employer-sponsored group health insurance premiums. The Health Insurance Premium Program (HIPP) and HIPP for Kids are these programs. All applications are first evaluated for HIPP for Kids and then HIPP if applicants are not eligible for the HIPP for Kids program. This ensures that applicants’ circumstances are fully reviewed and every opportunity for eligibility is granted.
